Bayside Dental - Cabling, Wi-Fi & Camera Build-Out
A Complete Low-Voltage Build-Out for a Two-Location Dental Practice
Project Overview
When Bayside Dental Group expanded into a newly renovated second location in Tampa, they needed the entire technology backbone installed right the first time: structured cabling to every operatory and front-desk station, business-grade Wi-Fi for staff and patients, and security cameras covering entrances, reception, and parking. We designed and delivered the complete system — 64 certified Cat6A runs terminating in a labeled, documented rack; a UniFi gateway with PoE++ switching and 6 access points placed from an on-site coverage survey; and 16 4K PoE cameras with 30-day retention, all viewable from a single app across both locations. Practice management systems, staff devices, guest Wi-Fi, and cameras each run on their own segmented VLAN, and camera placement follows HIPAA-aware rules — no treatment areas are ever recorded.
Our Role
Network Design, Structured Cabling, Wi-Fi Engineering, Camera System Design & Installation, Documentation
Key Deliverables
- 64 Cat6A runs, terminated, tested and certified with printed reports
- Wall-mounted rack with labeled patch panels and cable management
- UniFi gateway, PoE++ switching and 6 access points
- Wi-Fi coverage survey with heatmap before and after installation
- 16 4K PoE cameras with 30-day NVR retention
- Segmented VLANs: practice systems, staff, guest, cameras
- Single-app management across both practice locations
- As-built documentation: port maps, labels, credentials handoff
- Low-voltage permit and passed inspection
- 30-day post-install support window included

The Challenge
Bayside Dental's expansion exposed how fragile their original technology setup was:
- The new suite was a construction shell — zero network infrastructure existed
- Digital X-ray and practice management systems require reliable wired connections
- The original office ran on consumer Wi-Fi with constant dead zones in back operatories
- No security cameras at either location despite an attempted break-in the prior year
- Patient privacy rules (HIPAA) constrain where cameras can point and who can view footage
- Front desk, clinical devices, and patient guest Wi-Fi all shared one flat network
- The buildout was on a hard deadline — the practice had patients booked for opening week
- Previous vendor quotes bundled everything into vague line items with no documentation
Our Solution
We handled the entire low-voltage scope as one team, from design to inspection:
- Walked the site with the general contractor and mapped all 64 drops before drywall
- Ran and certified Cat6A to every operatory, front-desk station, AP and camera position
- Built a documented wall-mount rack: labeled patch panels, PoE++ switching, UPS
- Performed a Wi-Fi survey and placed 6 access points for full coverage — including back operatories
- Installed 16 4K PoE cameras covering entrances, reception, hallways and parking
- Configured HIPAA-aware views and roles — treatment areas excluded, footage access limited
- Segmented the network into VLANs: clinical, staff, guest and camera traffic isolated
- Unified both locations into one dashboard the owner can check from her phone
Development Process
Our systematic approach to delivering exceptional results
Site Survey & Design
3 days
Walked both locations, mapped every drop, and produced the cabling and coverage plan.
- Walkthrough with the general contractor
- Drop map for all 64 runs
- Wi-Fi predictive coverage model
- Camera placement plan with privacy review
Rough-In Cabling
1 week
Pulled all Cat6A runs coordinated with the construction schedule, before walls closed.
- 64 Cat6A pulls to spec
- Fire-stopping and pathway compliance
- Low-voltage permit filing
- Coordination with electrical and drywall crews
Rack, Termination & Certification
4 days
Built the rack, terminated and certified every run, and brought the network online.
- Patch panel termination and labeling
- Certification testing on all 64 runs
- Gateway, switching and VLAN configuration
- UPS and surge protection install
Wi-Fi & Cameras
4 days
Mounted APs and cameras, validated coverage against the survey, and tuned recording.
- 6 access points mounted and adopted
- Post-install heatmap validation
- 16 cameras aimed, focused and scheduled
- Retention and motion-event configuration
Inspection & Handoff
2 days
Passed inspection, trained the staff, and delivered full documentation.
- Low-voltage inspection (passed first visit)
- Staff training on cameras and guest Wi-Fi
- As-built documentation and credentials handoff
- 30-day support window kickoff

Key Features
Comprehensive features designed for optimal learning experience
Certified Cabling
All 64 Cat6A runs tested and certified, with printed reports in the handoff binder
Documented Rack
Labeled patch panels and a port map — any future tech knows exactly what goes where
Zero Dead Zones
Six APs placed from a real coverage survey — validated with a post-install heatmap
4K Camera Coverage
16 cameras across entrances, reception, hallways and parking at both locations
HIPAA-Aware Design
No treatment areas recorded; footage access restricted by role
Segmented VLANs
Clinical systems, staff, guest Wi-Fi and cameras isolated from each other
One App, Two Sites
Both locations' network and cameras managed from a single dashboard
Passed Inspection
Permitted, code-compliant work that passed inspection on the first visit
Project Screenshots
Visual showcase of the platform's key interfaces

Termination & Labeling
Every Cat6A run punched down, labeled and certified at the patch panel
Impact & Results
The practice opened on schedule with infrastructure built to last a decade:
Drops Certified
Every run tested and documented
Dead Zones
Full Wi-Fi coverage validated by heatmap
4K Cameras
Entrances, reception and parking covered
Retention
Footage available when it matters
Inspection Pass
Permitted work, passed first visit
Opening Week
Patients seen as scheduled from day one
Key Achievements
- Delivered a construction-shell suite fully networked in 3 weeks
- Eliminated the Wi-Fi dead zones that plagued the original office
- Gave the practice its first security camera system after a prior break-in attempt
- Isolated clinical systems from guest traffic with segmented VLANs
- Produced as-built documentation any future vendor can work from
- Both locations now roll into an AlbeTech monthly support plan
Client Testimonials
What our clients say about working with us
"The AlbeTech crew treated our new office like it was their own. Everything is labeled, documented, and just works — the Wi-Fi reaches every operatory and I can check both locations' cameras from my phone. Inspection passed on the first try."
Dr. Laura Espinosa
Practice Owner, Bayside Dental Group
"As office manager I was dreading the move. AlbeTech coordinated directly with our contractor, hit every construction deadline, and trained our front desk on the cameras and guest Wi-Fi before opening day."
